HOMEGROWN BEDLAM STARS

-

Four homegrown players figure to be among the 10 starters on the floor on either end when Oklahoma and Oklahoma State meet Wednesday night at Lloyd Noble Center. It’ll be the first Bedlam experiences for Oklahoma’s tandem of Trae Young and Brady Manek. Oklahoma State’s Mitchell Solomon and Lindy Waters III have been there before.

Here’s a look at several of the memorable Bedlam performances by homegrown players over the last decade:

Feb. 24, 2016: Bridge Creek High School product Ryan Spangler has 26 points and 14 rebounds in his final Bedlam performance, a 71-49 Oklahoma win. Spangler turned in a handful of the best games of his career in Bedlam, with four double-doubles.

Jan. 27, 2014: Spangler had 15 points and 17 rebounds in an 88-76 Sooners win that also had Putnam City West product Tyler Neal and Edmond Memorial’s Jordan Woodard with 15 or more points.

Feb. 22, 2012: Pawnee’s Keiton Page got on the board here even in a loss, with 29 points. He went 8 for 12 from behind the 3-point line in the second half to make things interesting before OU beat Page’s Cowboys 77-64. Like Spangler, Page also had several big Bedlam performances.

March 5, 2011: Enid’s Cade Davis had 22 points, shooting 6 of 8 from inside the arc and 10 of 13 at the free-throw line, in a 64-61 Sooners’ win.

Jan. 26, 2009: OCS alum Blake Griffin had a monster Bedlam year in 2009, combining for 76 points and 52 rebounds in three games. This night, Griffin had 26 points and 19 boards to help Oklahoma to an 89-81 win. Jan. 28, 2008: Edmond Santa Fe product Obi Muonelo had 25 points, going 8 of 15 from the field and hitting 5 of 9 from behind the arc in Oklahoma State’s 64-61 loss.
