and didn’t happen on the court Wednesday night when Oklahoma State visited Oklahoma for the season’s first edition of Bedlam men’s basketball at Lloyd Noble Center.

Waters, Oklahoma State’s 6-foot-6 sophomore guard who had started the previous 13 games, missed his first game of the season.

He is in the concussion protocol and the timetable for his return has not been set.

who had been an occasional Cameron starter McGriff, early Jeffrey in the Carroll, season got before giving way to the start in Waters’ place.

Waters and Young, Oklahoma’s star freshman, last played together in March of 2016 when Waters was a senior and Young a junior.

Manek has a monster Bedlam

Oklahoma’s other impressive freshman turned in yet another big-time game in the Sooners’ 109-89 Bedlam win Wednesday night.

Harrah product Brady Manek finished with 28 points, outscoring Young.

Manek was sensational, going 9 of 11 from the floor including six of eight from behind the 3-point line in a career-best performance.

Manek and Young combined for 55 points.

While Manek has been one of the biggest beneficiaries of Young’s passing ability this season, only one of Manek’s buckets in Bedlam was assisted by Young.

It was the first time all season that Young was not the Sooners’ leading scorer.

Up Next for Oklahoma: At West Virginia

Oklahoma hits the road to face No. 6 West Virginia on Saturday (6:15 p.m., ESPN2).

The Sooners upset the No. 7 Mountaineers last year in Morgantown, W.Va., winning 89-87 in overtime.

Oklahoma is 2-0 on the road this season, with both games coming against top 10 opponents. The Sooners won at No. 3 Wichita State and at No. 10 TCU in December.

West Virginia is 13-1 and 2-0 in conference play after beating Kansas State on Monday night.

The Mountaineers will still be without forward Esa Ahmad, who has missed the first half of the season after failing to meet NCAA eligibility requirements.

Ahmad is eligible to return Jan. 13 against Texas Tech.

OSU is 8-2 on the home floor this season, with both losses coming to teams ranked in the top 10 at the time, Wichita State and West Virginia.
