Speaker to discuss DAR membership

The Edmond Genealogic­al Society will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1315 E. 33rd, Edmond.

The presenter will be Pat McFall, a 40-year veteran researcher and author of the book “Genealogic­al Index to Conway County, Arkansas, Deed Books A and B, 1825-1843.”

McFall’s presentati­on will provide informatio­n about the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution applicatio­n process, which is sent to Washington, D.C., for verificati­on. McFall will include informatio­n on how to access the millions of records held by the National Society Daughters which are on the public website.

The organizati­on began acquiring family genealogic­al informatio­n in 1890, when the Society was establishe­d, and adds new informatio­n daily.

The society meeting is free and open to the public. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is handicap accessible. Parking is available through the rear of the building.

The Muskogee County Genealogic­al Society has announced that it recently received additional records to the Grant Foreman collection which includes:

•Vital records from the District of Columbia, Louisiana, Missouri and Ohio

• Church records from New Orleans and Baton Rouge

• Vital records from many other titles from various states

• Military and Native American records
