Dennis Rodman enters rehab

-

Former NBA and Southeastern Oklahoma State University star Dennis Rodman has checked himself into a rehabilitation center.

The agent for former NBA star Dennis Rodman says the Hall of Famer has checked into an alcohol rehabilitation center after a weekend DUI arrest.

Rodman's agent, Darren Prince, tells The Associated Press that Rodman checked into Turning Point Rehabilitation Center in Paterson, New Jersey, on Wednesday to deal with his longtime struggle with alcoholism.

Rodman, a former Southeastern Oklahoma State University and Chicago Bulls standout, was arrested in Southern California late Saturday on suspicion of DUI after being pulled over for a traffic violation. Newport Beach police say Rodman failed field sobriety and breath tests.

This is Rodman's second time in rehab. He spent three weeks at Turning Point in 2014 after returning from North Korea, where he organized an exhibition basketball game involving retired NBA players for North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Harden returns to practice

Houston Rockets guard James Harden returned to practice on Wednesday for the first time since he was injured Dec. 31 against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Harden, who is coming back from a strained left hamstring, stepped onto the court, nailed a couple of corner 3-pointers and got quickly into the flow of warmups.

"It just feels good to be back out here around your teammates and that good energy and just hooping again," Harden said. "Two and a half weeks felt like a very long time."

Rockets coach Mike D'Antoni couldn't confirm if Harden would play on Thursday against the Minnesota Timberwolves but said it would be probable if everything goes well in practice and based also on how Harden feels when he wakes up on Thursday.

Spurs' Leonard sidelined indefinitely

The San Antonio Spurs say Kawhi Leonard will be out indefinitely as he continues his recovery from a leg injury.

Leonard has played in just nine games after missing the beginning of the season because of right quadriceps tendinopathy. He also was sidelined briefly because of a shoulder injury.

Spurs general manager RC Buford said Wednesday that Leonard has made significant progress in his recovery but "this is the best approach for the next steps in his return to play."

The All-Star forward is averaging 16.2 points this season for the Spurs.

Sefolosha has knee surgery

Utah Jazz and former Oklahoma City Thunder forward Thabo Sefolosha will have surgery on his right knee Wednesday.

The defensive specialist has decided to repair an avulsion of the medial collateral ligament after suffering the injury against the Hornets on Jan. 12. He was originally diagnosed with a knee sprain.

The team did not give a timeline for his return, but there are fears it could be a long absence.

Sefolosha averaged 8.2 points, 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals in 38 games.
