The Oklahoman

OSU’s 2018 signing class

-

Here’s a look at the 25 players Oklahoma State signed in its 2018 recruiting class:

Hunter Anthony*

OL, 6-7, 320, Tuttle

Anthony is already on campus, which will give the monstrous offensive tackle a chance to mix in with the returning players during spring practice.

Blake Barron*

LB, 6-0, 225, Rockwall, Texas

Also an early enrollee, Barron was an inside linebacker in high school, but could end up on the outside at OSU because of his lateral speed.

Jarrick Bernard*

S, 6-2, 200, Shreveport, La. (Evangel Chr.) Already on campus, Bernard can help add depth at a safety position that graduated three of its top four players.

Bryce Bray

OL, 6-5, 310, Bixby

Bray will add depth on the interior of the line, where next season’s depth chart looks to be loaded with seniors.

JayVeon Cardwell

CB, 6-0, 175, Cibolo, Texas (Steele)

The Cowboys return both starters at cornerback, but the depth chart has questions after that, and Cardwell brings strong coverage skills.

Braden Cassity

DE, 6-2, 240, Austin, Texas (Westlake)

A speedy defensive end who can provide a unique skill set at the position.

Jacob Farrell

OL, 6-6, 285, Sulphur

Another big offensive tackle prospect, Farrell is a raw talent with a high ceiling.

Sean Michael Flanagan*

S, 6-2, 185, Charleston, Arkansas

Rated by Rivals.com as the No. 1 recruit in Arkansas, Flanagan is already enrolled and could provide immediate help in a thin secondary.

Amadou Fofana

DL, 6-4, 280, Memphis, Tennessee/Highland (Kansas) Community College

An honorable mention NJCAA All-American this past season, Fofana could contribute early, and has the versatility to play end or tackle on the defensive line.

Jahmyl Jeter

RB, 6-0, 210, San Antonio (Brennan)

Jeter brings his physical running style to a talented and varied group of running backs.

Tyler Lacy

DE, 6-4, 240, Sachse, Texas

Lacy most recently showed his skills on a big stage, performing well for Team USA against Canada in the International Bowl.

Gabe Lemons

CB, 6-2, 175, Coppell, Texas

A versatile athlete in high school who starred on both sides of the ball.

Tanner McCalister

CB, 5-11, 180, Heath, Texas (Rockwall-Heath) Like Flanagan, McCalister was once committed to Arkansas and helps fill the Cowboys’ desire to load up on defensive backs.

Patrick McKaufman*

WR, 6-6, 190, Douglass/Northeastern Oklahoma A&M McKaufman has been on campus since last July, but counts as a signee in the 2018 class because of how late in the year he joined the team. He redshirted and has impressed the staff already.

C.J. Moore

WR, 6-5, 175, Tulsa (Union)

Moore, who is the cousin of former OSU receiver Tracy Moore, will be in the mix with McKaufman and others as the Pokes fill the need for size at receiver with the graduation of Marcell Ateman and Chris Lacy.

Kolby Peel

S, 6-0, 210, College Station, Texas (A&M Consolidated) When he signed in December, he was viewed as an outside linebacker prospect in former defensive coordinator Glenn Spencer’s scheme, but under newly hired Jim Knowles, he could be a safety.

Jake Ross*

TE, 6-6, 240, Northeastern Oklahoma A&M Considered more of a traditional tight end than what OSU has at the Cowboy back position now, Ross has enrolled and will give OSU some versatility.

Spencer Sanders

QB, 6-2, 195, Denton, Texas (Ryan) Expected to compete for the starting job once he arrives in summer, Sanders was the offensive MVP for Team USA in the International Bowl rout of Canada.

Mike Scott

DE, 6-5, 240, Trinity Valley CC

Lanky speed rusher spent two seasons at SMU before transferring to Trinity Valley. He was rated by 247sports. com as the No. 32 junior-college prospect in the 2018 class.

Jonathan Shepherd

WR, 6-4, 195, Kilgore, Texas Another big receiver in the class, Shepherd’s father, Ronald, played baseball for parts of three seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays.

Jason Taylor II

S, 6-2, 180, Midwest City (Carl Albert) A multi-sport star for Carl Albert, Taylor was The Oklahoman’s All-State Defensive Player of the Year.

Samuela Tuihalamaka

DT, 6-2, 290, Santa Ana, California (Mater Dei) A nose guard in high school, Tuihalamaka can be a versatile interior defensive lineman for the Cowboys.

Kanion Williams

S, 6-2, 180, Dallas (South Oak Cliff) Gundy has stressed the need for more big, athletic defensive backs and Williams fits the description.

Tyrese Williams

OL, 6-3, 285, Houston (Cypress Ridge)

A powerful and intelligent prospect, Williams has a strong understanding of the center position.

Hunter Woodard

OL, 6-5, 295, Tuscola, Illinois

Yet another highly regarded recruit brought in by offensive line coach Josh Henson, who has worked tirelessly to rebuild depth across the front.
