Braxton Bohrofen, Westmoore, baseball

-

Westmoore senior Braxton Bohrofen had little choice but to be a Sooners fan and all he wanted was a chance put on a crimson baseball jersey.

Just like his father. Bohrofen will get that oppurtunity. He signed his National Letter of Intent with Oklahoma earlier this school year, following in the footsteps of his father, Brent.

“Whenever they offered it was a no-brainer,” Bohrofen said.

Bohrofen is a talented infielder who can play multiple positions. He helped the Jaguars reach the Class 6A state championship game last spring.

Also a standout quarterback, Bohrofen made sure to have his signing ceremony when his football teammates signed elsewhere. For him, football was helpful for baseball.

“They both teach you different aspects of life mentally and physically,” he said. “When you put the two together, I think it’s a lethal combination that will help me out in the long run.”

But nothing helped more than dad on the diamond.

Brent started coaching Braxton in little league. Braxton continued to develop into one of the state’s top players who will continue a family legacy.

“It’s exciting,” Brent said. “For me, he could have went wherever he wanted. I’m glad he chose OU. OU is obviously near and dear to my heart.”
