The oversight body for local criminal justice reform efforts has named Timothy Tardibono executive director. The Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Advisory Council comprises law enforcement, criminal justice and civic leaders from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, Edmond and Midwest City.

Tardibono was founder of the Family Policy Institute of Oklahoma. He also served five years as legal counsel to U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn, four years as assistant general counsel at the state Health Department and five years as a policy analyst for Oklahoma’s secretary of health and human services.

“I’m excited to join this effort that already has so much positive momentum,” Tardibono said in a news release. “I’m ready to get to work helping the Council make sustainable changes and reforms. I am grateful to the Council for this important opportunity.”

Tardibono was selected under a contract with the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber last month.

Clay Bennett, chairman of the council, said Tardibono has the right combination of passion and experience needed to help lead the council’s efforts. For more information about the council and its work, go to smartsafeokco.com.
