Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School has selected London Klechka as the January Student of the Month. London was nominated by her peers and faculty for her leadership skills, dedication and loyalty to the school. She is the daughter of Kenneth and Sherry Klechka, of Oklahoma City.

An active leader at McGuinness, London has been a Student Ambassador since her sophomore year, representi­ng McGuinness at various events in the community. She was the Student Council design coordinato­r for the last two years and now serves as the senior class president. Other club activities include the National Junior Classical League and Big Sis Lil Sis.

London is a member of the Infant Crisis Center Teen Board and an alter server at Christ the King Catholic Church. Community service hours include volunteer opportunit­ies at Youth Force, OKC Arts Festival and Centennial Hospice. London organizes fundraiser concerts for nonprofit organizati­ons in the Paseo Arts District, raising several thousand dollars for companies such as Water4, Annie’s House, The Make A Wish Foundation and Wings. She was instrument­al in the McGuinness Senior Service Project this year. Serving as the chairman, the class hosted an Olympics day at the Boys and Girls Club of Oklahoma City.
