Report: NCAA basketball corruption case poised to take down top programs

Yahoo Sports reported Thursday that the FBI’s probe into corruption in college basketball will have a substantial impact on the sport.

One assistant US Attorney told Yahoo Sports the 330-day federal investigation has netted thousands of wiretapped conversations, documents and bank records. As many as 50 programs could be compromised by the probe, according to the report.

“This goes a lot deeper in college basketball than four corrupt assistant coaches,” a source who been briefed on the case told Yahoo Sports.

One of those coaches was former Oklahoma State associate coach Lamont Evans. OSU fired Evans in September after he was accused of accepting bribes to steer players to certain agents.
