No. 19 Shockers rally to down Temple
WICHITA, KAN. — Shaquille
Morris had 23 points and 13 rebounds, including a tie-breaking putback in the final two minutes, to help No. 19 Wichita State defeat Temple 93-86 on Thursday night.
Darral Willis had 24 points for the Shockers (20-5, 10-3 American Athletic Conference), who trailed by 14 at halftime. Morris and Willis, senior posts, were combined 18 of 21 from the floor. Austin Reaves scored 11 points for Wichita State, and Landry Shamet and Conner Frankamp each scored 10.
Temple (15-11, 7-7) hit a season-high 16 3-point shots on 29 attempts.
Houston 67, No. 5 Cincinnati 62
HOUSTON (AP) — Corey Davis Jr. and Devin Davis each scored 16 points, and Houston beat No. 5 Cincinnati 67-62 on Thursday night to snap the nation's longest winning streak at 16 games.
Rob Gray chipped in 13 points and Armoni Brooks added 12 as the Cougars (20-5, 10-3 American) earned their second win this season over a top-10 team after beating then-No. 7 Wichita State on Jan. 20.
Houston last beat two top-10 teams in a season in 1984, when it did that four times en route to the national championship game.
Wisconsin 57, No. 6 Purdue 53
MADISON, WIS. — Ethan Happ had 21 points and 12 rebounds, and Wisconsin secured its biggest win of a challenging season, beating No. 6 Purdue 57-53 on Thursday night.
Brad Davison added 16 points for the Badgers (12-16, 5-10 Big Ten), who handed the Boilermakers (23-5, 12-3) their third straight loss on the night the program honored one of its best. Charlotte Hornets forward Frank Kaminsky, who led the Badgers to the national championship game in 2015, had his jersey retired.
Tulsa 73, UConn 71
HARTFORD, CONN. — Sterling Taplin scored a career-high 30 points and Tulsa beat UConn 73-71, sweeping the season series from the Huskies.
Junior Etou had 15 points and DaQuan Jefferies added 14 for Tulsa (15-10, 8-5), which extended its winning streak to four on Thursday night.
WOMEN'S ROUNDUP Purdue 75, No. 10 Maryland 65
COLLEGE PARK, MD. — Dominique Oden made two straight 3-pointers late in the game, and Purdue shocked No. 10 Maryland 75-65 on Thursday night to end the Terrapins' sevengame winning streak.
Although Maryland remains atop the Big Ten, the three-time defending conference champions now hold a tenuous one-game lead over Ohio State and Nebraska with three to play.
The Terrapins (22-4, 11-2) had not lost since Jan. 11.
Alabama 72, No. 11 Tennessee 63 KNOXVILLE, TENN. —
Jordan Lewis scored 14 of her 19 points in the fourth quarter Thursday as Alabama upset No. 11 Tennessee 72-63 for its first road victory over the Lady Volunteers in school history.
Alabama (16-10, 7-7 SEC) had lost to the Lady Vols in each of its previous trips to Knoxville. Alabama has now beaten Tennessee four straight times overall after losing 42 consecutive games in this series from 1984-2016.
Syracuse 68, No. 17 Duke 65
SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Tiana Mangakahia scored 19 points, including the winning 3-pointer with 57 seconds left, and Syracuse upended No. 17 Duke 68-65 on Thursday night.
Isis Young had 16 points for the Orange (19-7, 8-7 Atlantic Coast Conference), who had 15 3s, five by Mangakahia, who had 11 assists.
No. 4 Louisville 87, Boston College 52
BOSTON — Asia Durr scored 16 points to lead No. 4 Louisville to an 87-52 victory against Boston College on Thursday night for its sixth win in seven games.
Louisville (26-2, 12-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) had its five-game winning streak snapped in Monday's 69-58 loss at No. 1 Connecticut, when it trailed by as many as 22 points and came no closer than the final margin in the second half.
No. 5 Notre Dame 83, Virginia 69
CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA. — Arike Ogunbowale scored 27 points and No. 5 Notre Dame opened with a 20-2 run and cruised past Virginia 83-69 on Thursday night.
Marina Mabrey added 16 points, and Jessica Shepard had 15 to help the Irish (24-2, 12-1 Atlantic Coast Conference) win their ninth in a row.
Florida State defeated Clemson for the 18th straight time, 91-43

No. 8 South Carolina 77, No. 20 Georgia 65
ATHENS, GA. — Tyasha Harris scored 20 points,
A'Ja Wilson added a doubledouble and No. 8 South Carolina took control in the second half to beat No. 20 Georgia 77-65 on Thursday night.
Wilson had 18 points and 16 rebounds for South Carolina (21-5, 10-3 Southeastern Conference) in a game that provided clarity to the top of the conference standings.
The teams began the night in a three-way tie with No. 11 Tennessee for second place in the SEC behind undefeated No. 2 Mississippi State. Alabama beat Tennessee 72-63 Thursday night, leaving South Carolina alone in second place.
