Swimmers from all over the state will compete Friday and Saturday at Edmond Schools Aquatic Center in both Class 6A and Class 5A state meets.

Here are some swimmers from the Oklahoma City area to watch: CLASS 6A

Katie Callahan, Sr., Edmond Memorial:

A Kansas signee, she’s looking to win the 200-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle and give the Bulldogs a chance to upset heavy favorite Bartlesville.

Luke Davis, Jr., Edmond Memorial:

The son of Olympic gold medalist Josh Davis, who is now Oklahoma Christian’s coach, moved from Edmond North. He is the favorite in the 200-yard IM and 500-yard

freestyle. Kellie Fischer, Sr., Edmond Memorial:

A Florida Gulf Coast signee, Fisher is seeded second in her two events (100-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke) hoping to pull an upset to get the Bulldogs needed points.

Aiden Hayes, Fr., Norman North:

A talented freshman, Hayes will be crucial for the Timberwolves, who are title contenders. He’s seeded second in the 50-yard freestyle and first in the 100-yard butterfly.

CLASS 5A

Dewi Blose, Sr., Stillwater:

Another in-state signee headed to Kansas, Blose is the leader of a Pioneers team heavily favored to win the state title. She’s tops in the 100-yard butterfly and 100-yard backstroke.

Aaron Hill, Sr., Stillwater:

Hill can score some huge points for the Pioneers if he can win the 100-yard breaststroke, an even he’s seeded second by just 0.08 seconds.

Caleb McGuire, So., Bridge Creek:

He’s young and rapidly improving. He’s not favored in the 50- or 100-yard freestyle races behind Tulsa Kelley superstar Patrick Callan, a Michigan signee, but he’s capable of bringing home medals in both.

Hanna Newby, Jr., McGuinness:

A rising star who continues to break her own state records, she’s a 6-second favorite in the 200-yard IM and an 8-second favorite in the 100-yard breaststroke.
