OU golf team tied for third

The No. 6 Oklahoma men’s golf team is tied for third place after two rounds at the Puerto Rico Classic.

The three-day, 54-hole tournament is taking place at the par-71, 6,716-yard Ocean Course at the Rio Mar Beach Resort and Spa in Rio Grande, P.R.

The Sooners posted a 296 on Monday for 12-over, bringing their team total to 570 and 2-over. The field at the Puerto Rico Classic features five top-25 teams.Georgia Tech sits atop the leaderboar­d with a 562 (6-under), while host Purdue is in sole possession of second place at 567 (1-under). The Sooners are tied with Clemson and North Carolina State going into Tuesday’s final 18 holes.

Sooner gymnasts still No. 1

Oklahoma’s women’s gymnastics team remains No. 1 in the nation. The Sooners earned its sixth win the season last week and held on to the top spot in Monday’s new poll with an average score of 197.638.

LSU moved back into second place after posting two scores of 198-plus over the weekend. The Tigers have an average score of 197.481, pushing them ahead of No. 3 UCLA with 197.357. Utah, 197.329, and Florida, 197.100, round out the top five. As a team, the Sooners are ranked first nationally on vault and bars, second on beam and third on floor.

Tickets on sale for Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championsh­ip

Single-Session tickets for the 2018 Phillips 66 Big 12 Women’s Basketball Championsh­ip are now on sale. The women’s championsh­ip will be played March 2-5 at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Single-Session tickets are priced at $25, $20 and $10, plus fees. All active duty military, military veterans and teachers with a valid military or school ID can buy a $5 general admission ticket for each session at the arena box office.
