Chamber exec to leave for Delaware
The Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s executive
vice president of economic development is leaving the state to lead a public-private economic development partnership in Delaware, officials announced.
The Delaware Prosperity Partnership announced Kurt Foreman’s selection as its first president and chief executive on March 1, following a monthslong search. Foreman joined the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber in August 2012, and chamber officials said he’s been involved in economic development efforts that have led to companies announcing more than 27,000 new jobs involving $1.3 billion in pay and capital investments of $2.4 billion during his tenure.
Before coming to Oklahoma City, Foreman had served as the chief executive of the North Louisiana Economic Partnership and in economic development positions in Pittsburgh and the Washington, D.C. area.
“This is a tremendous opportunity for Kurt as he stands up a new statewide economic development organization,” said Roy Williams, president and chief executive of the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber. “We appreciate the work he has been able to do in Oklahoma City. He helped to guide our work in the innovation district and
the development of our Forward Oklahoma City V initiatives.”
Foreman will continue working in Oklahoma City until an interim replacement is selected, officials said.
