Tulsa Memorial, Boone brothers run over shorthanded Lawton Ike
For The Oklahoman
Memorial coach Bobby Allison wanted to make sure his players understood the circumstances.
“We told our guys that everyone overcomes stuff,” Allison said. “And (Lawton Eisenhower) is going to try and overcome even more.”
Allison was referring to Class 5A No. 4 Lawton Ike being without senior guard RJ Fisher, who was forced to sit out Friday night’s semifinal clash with the Chargers after being disqualified from Thursday’s win against Coweta after

picking up a pair of technical fouls.
Without Fisher, topranked Memorial breezed past the Eagles in an 85-56 rout at the Mabee Center.
“I said, ‘guys, don’t let their reason be your excuse,’” Allison said. “Bottom line, it’s not like it was four-on-five out there. It’s still five-onfive.”
Plus, Memorial’s star power was far too much for Lawton Ike to contend with.
Kalib Boone tortured Lawton Ike (20-6) to the tune of 21 points, and Keylan Boone had 19 points of his own. Together, the brothers also combined for 26 rebounds.
“We just decided to go play team basketball,” said Allison, whose club out-rebounded Lawton Ike 52-31 “We knew they were going to try and uptempo us, so we had to make sure not to turn it over.”
The Chargers (26-2) shot 52.5 percent (31-of59) from the field and 10-of-19 from beyond the 3-point arc.
Minus Fisher on offense, Kinyon Parker led the Eagles with 15 points, but he finished 4-of-12 from the field. Kevin Farmer also scored in double figures for Lawton Ike with 12 points.
