Edmond school district to host STEM info night
Edmond Public Schools will host a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) and Technology Parent Information Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
The free event will be at the district’s administrative center, 1001 W Danforth.
Among the topics to be discussed are:
• “How to Use Canvas as a Parent”
• “How to Support STEM at Home”
• “Chromebooks in the Classroom”
• “iPads in the Classroom”
• “Creating a Safe Tech Environment at Home”
• “Why Math Looks Different Now”
• “Get to Know Google Apps in Education”
Sessions will be led by district curriculum and technology staff and last 30 minutes. They will be at 6 p.m., 6:40 p.m. and 7:20 p.m. Parents also may sign up for a 20-minute presession called “What is STEM,” which will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Voice master class planned at OU
NORMAN — Marilyn Horne, who semiannually serves as a visiting artist at the University of Oklahoma will conduct a free master voice class at 7 p.m. Friday at the School of Music’s Pitman Recital Hall.
Praised by critics as having “the greatest voice of the 20th century,” Horne, former star of the Metropolitan Opera, is a
world-renowned American mezzo-soprano opera singer, who has performed in opera houses around the world during a highly successful international career.
Friday's class is open to the public at no cost.
