Newfield awards community grants

Newfield Exploratio­n Co.’s charitable foundation has awarded $315,000 in grants to 12 charities in the Oklahoma communitie­s where the company operates.

In Oklahoma City, the foundation awarded $50,000 to the Toby Keith Foundation, $30,000 to Ducks Unlimited, $25,000 to the Oklahoma Youth Expo and $25,000 to the Regional Foodbank of Oklahoma.

Grants also were awarded to the Boys & Girls Club of McAlester, Calumet Fire Department, Wheatbelt Chapter of National AMBUCS, Center of Family Love in Kingfisher, Kingfisher Community Collaborat­ive, Kingfisher Trails, National Wild Turkey Federation and the McAlester Scottish Rite C&E Foundation.

“Since Newfield arrived in Oklahoma 17 years ago, we have always had a belief that we should support the communitie­s where our employees not only work, but live,” Newfield CEO Lee K. Boothby said. “Strengthen­ing local communitie­s is at the heart of our foundation and we are proud to be involved in helping to enrich the quality of life of Oklahoma families.”

To reinforce its mission, the Newfield Foundation supports programs in the environmen­t, medical, cultural arts and community services.

Receiving grants this year in Oklahoma were eight community service charities, three environmen­tal organizati­ons and one medical foundation.
