Sooners end with pair of wins

FULLERTON, CALIF. — Fifth-ranked Oklahoma completed a 5-0 performanc­e at the Easton Tournament with two wins on Sunday, downing No. 17 Ohio State 5-0 and Cal State Fullerton 14-3.

OU moved to 24-2 on the season and extended its winning streak to 15 games.

•Against Ohio State, seniors Paige Parker and Paige Lowary combined for OU’s 13th shutout of the season.

Parker started in the circle and moved to 13-1 on the season as she tossed 5.2 innings, allowing two hits and no runs while striking out eight. Lowary earned her third save of the season, surrenderi­ng no hits or runs and registerin­g one strikeout.

Jocelyn Alo had a great game at the plate for the Sooners, going 2-for-4 and driving in three runs.

•In the second game of the day, a strong performanc­e by third baseman Sydney Romero powered the Sooners to victory.

Romero went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI, helping OU rout tournament host Cal State Fullerton.

Starting pitcher Mariah Lopez moved to 7-0 on the year as she tossed four innings, allowing two hits and no runs while striking out four and walking three.

Parker Conrad, Melanie Olmos and Lowary each threw one inning in relief. Conrad surrendere­d one run on three hits, Olmos gave up two runs on three hits and Lowary closed the final inning with no runs or hits and a walk.
