A 35-year-old man was arrested Wednesday on a murder complaint in connection with what appeared to be burglary gone wrong in southeast Oklahoma City.

Terron Eastman Johnson was booked into the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of murder and conspiracy to commit a felony in connection with the death of Koryaun Dejohn Jackson, 19.

About 4:20 a.m. Dec. 21, police were called to American Sanitation Inc., 1801 S Santa Fe Ave., in response to a reported burglary in progress. At the scene, officers found the body of Jackson, who had been run over by a pickup.

Investigators learned that Jackson and two other men broke into a fenced-in area of the business and as Canesha Greene and John Butler were arriving for work. As Butler got out to unlock the gates of the business, “three masked individuals all dressed in black” confronted him, according to a court affidavit.

Two of the men were armed with baseball bats and one man, armed with a handgun, chased Butler, who was then struck in the head by one of the bats.

Greene, who was still in the vehicle, told investigators another man struck one of the vehicle’s windows while the man armed with the gun pointed at her and Butler. The three men chased her as she reversed the pickup, then put it in drive and ran over Jackson.

A witness, who was not identified, told investigators that “T or Tee,” later identified as Johnson, was involved in the attack. The witness said Johnson, Jackson and another man were hired by Jackson’s cousin to assault Greene and Butler. The man accused of hiring the men is also reported to be in a custody battle with Greene over their child.

After Jackson was struck and killed, Johnson ran from the scene, “threw his bat in the river” and fled the area, the witness said.
