OU gets transfer
Oklahoma picked up a shooting guard on Tuesday in Kris Martin. He started his career at Oral Roberts, and then moved on to Colorado State. He sat out last season at CSU and announced his decision to transfer to Oklahoma following the resignation of Rams coach Larry Eustachy.
A day after Oklahoma lost another guard to transfer, the Sooners added one piece.
Colorado State shooting guard Kris Martin, who began his career at Oral Roberts before transferring to Colorado State before last season, announced Tuesday that he'd decided to transfer to the Sooners.
Martin, a 6-foot-6 player from Frisco, Texas, started 37 games over two seasons with the Golden Eagles before transferring.
He averaged 10.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game.
He sat out last season due to NCAA rules and announced his decision to transfer once again recently following the resignation of Colorado State coach Larry Eustachy.
Martin figures to have to sit once more and would have one more season of eligibility unless he's able to graduate before moving on. In that case, Martin would have two seasons remaining and would be eligible immediately.
Martin shot 37.9 percent from behind the 3-point line.
Martin's decision came on the heels of Kameron McGusty's announcement that he would transfer away from OU after finishing out his sophomore season.
A few days earlier, backup point guard Jordan Shepherd announced he would transfer as well.
