Locally produced Passion Story CD proves popular

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

As Palm Sunday ushered in Holy Week, a local radio production group began an Easter project to put Christ’s Passion story into the hands of as many people as possible.

William Cathey with Living Catholic Productions created the “Passion Story” CD, which included a narration of the “Passion of our Lord” by the Rev. Don Wolf, pastor of St. Eugene Catholic Church.

Cathey said the story begins with Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem, leads to His trial and death on Calvary on Good Friday and His resurrection on Easter Sunday.

“The events leading to and including His death are called His ‘Passion.’ It is powerful and moving to just describe what it is,” Cathey said.

Living Catholic Productions sought to give away many of CDs. Individuals could also purchase the CD for $5.

Cathey said the narration is 18 minutes and can be easily listened to in the car, alone or with the family.

He said people responded to the project in a big way.

“Father Wolf’s CD with his narration of ‘The Passion’ has been a big hit,” Cathey said.

“We will have distributed about 1,000 copies. In addition to the many copies sold for the nominal $5, hundreds of copies were given away to the public through direct evangelism and to all the new converts joining at Easter.”

Cathey said more than 20 parishes in the metro area were included in the project.

“Hopefully next year, we can include the entire Archdiocese of Oklahoma City,” he said.
