Prayer breakfast is set

The popular CMBC Metro OKC Prayer Breakfast is set for April 18 in downtown Oklahoma City.

Astronaut Charles “Charlie” Duke will be the keynote speaker of the 2018 CBMC OKC Metro Prayer Breakfast set for 6:30 a.m. April 18 at the Cox Convention Center, 1 Myriad Gardens.

Duke is one of only 12 people in history to have walked on the moon. He and fellow astronauts John Young and Ken Mattingly crewed the lunar mission Apollo 16 in April 1972.

Duke and Young spent almost three days on the lunar surface, conducting moonwalks and maneuverin­g the lunar rover to inspect, survey and sample materials.

Having reached the rank of brigadier general in the United States Air Force, Duke retired from NASA in December 1975 to enter private business. He is owner of Duke Investment­s and is the president of Charlie Duke Enterprise­s.

He is also an active speaker and the president of Duke Ministry For Christ.

He and his wife reside in New Braunfels, Texas. They have co-authored the book “Moonwalker” and have produced two videos, “Moonwalker” and “Walk on the Moon, Walk with the Son.”

Connecting Business Men to Christ-Oklahoma City, also known as CBMC, has been hosting the annual prayer breakfast in Oklahoma City for more than three decades.

Tickets to the breakfast are $40 per person and table sponsorshi­ps are also available.
