Metro Tech hosts free annual job fair

Metro Technology Centers will host the 30th annual Job Fair from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on April 18 at the Springlake Campus Business Conference Center, 1900 Springlake Drive.

More than 60 employers will be hiring. The job fair is free and open to the public. “We originally developed the job fair for students graduating from Metro Tech career training, but then opened to the public as well,” said Transition Coordinato­r Aaron Walker.

Some of the employers seeking potential employees include Auto Zone, Bob Moore Auto Group, City of Oklahoma City, Dell, Dolese

Brothers, Ford Audio Video, Integris Health, Supercuts, Tinker Federal Credit Union, Electrical JATC and more.

Training offered for aftermarke­t installers

EDMOND — Petra Industries is holding Car Tech 2018 on April 22.

The event is an one-day training opportunit­y for businesses that do aftermarke­t installati­ons on cars, powersport­s vehicles and boats.

Qualified trainers from eight of the most-requested 12-volt manufactur­ers such as Pioneer, Metra and Directed will lead hands-on training to teach insider tips and tricks for quicker,

better installs.

"We're very excited to bring in top manufactur­ers to the Oklahoma City metro," said Tate Morgan, Petra President. "We want to provide an intense learning experience where installers can ask questions and see the newest products on the market.

“Car Tech 2018 will also provide these shops with additional skills and resources, and provide more informed customer service."

Enrollment opens for small business course

The Community Action Agency is enrolling for the

Small Business Training Series, a five-week course held at Metro Technology Centers, 1700 Springlake Drive.

The classes are from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays from April 10 to May 8. The cost of the series is $30.

The course is taught by community profession­als, who will address topics such as legal issues, financials, tax issues, marketing, advertisin­g, e-commerce, business plan developmen­t and pursuing funding. The course targets businesses working through the start up or expansion process.
