Pats interested in OSU stars
The New England Patriots recently held a private workout with former Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington.
The New England Patriots reportedly have interest in both members of Oklahoma State's dynamic quarterback-receiver duo.
The Patriots recently held a private workout with former OSU quarterback Mason Rudolph and receiver James Washington, among others, per NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. New England has two first-round picks, No. 23 and No. 31, in the 2018 NFL Draft, which begins April 26.
Rudolph is OSU's all-time leader in passing yards, total touchdowns and victories as a starting quarterback. In New England, he would likely back up Patriots quarterback Tom Brady until the future Hall of Fame member retires. However, Rudolph is also drawing interest from a number of other teams, including the Buffalo Bills, who have the 12th and 22nd picks of the draft's first round.
Washington, OSU's all-time leading receiver and the 2017 Biletnikoff Award winner, is viewed among the top available wideouts in the draft. He met with Steelers coach Mike Tomlin, general manager Kevin Colbert and other Pittsburgh representatives ahead of the Cowboys' pro day in March.
The 2018 NFL Draft is April 26-28 at the Dallas Cowboys' AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
• The Cleveland Browns traded their third quarterback of the offseason, sending Kevin Hogan to the Washington Redskins.
The teams announced the deal Friday that includes swapping sixthround picks. Cleveland acquires the 188th pick from Washington for No. 205, which it previously acquired from New England for cornerback Jason McCourty.
Hogan follows Cody Kessler and DeShone Kizer out the door in Cleveland.
Cleveland, which has the first overall pick in the draft, also traded with Buffalo for Tyrod Taylor, the expected starter, and signed veteran Drew Stanton to a two-year deal.
The 25-year-old Hogan will compete with established No. 2 QB Colt McCoy to back up recently acquired Alex Smith.
