UCO to offer labyrinth workshops

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

EDMOND — The Rev. Kay Mutert will lead “Walking the Path of Creativity: A Labyrinth Workshop,” a training session focused on rekindling one’s creative flame from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. May 18 at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Mutert is trained through Veriditas, an organization that supports the building of labyrinths around the world and trains individuals to facilitate labyrinth experiences.

Cost for the workshop is $125 for the community and $100 for UCO faculty, staff and students. Space is limited.

Melissa Powers, a professor in UCO’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies, is coordinating the workshop.

“UCO is fortunate to have a beautiful labyrinth that we have offered on campus since 2013. The labyrinth calls us to creativity and calm, which is much needed in today’s busy world. Whether you are experienced in labyrinth walking or new to the labyrinth, we hope the community will join us,” Powers said.

Attendees of the May 18 workshop qualify for the more in-depth Veriditas Facilitator Training on May 19-20, also held at UCO and sponsored by UCO’s Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies. To register for either workshop, go to uco.edu/ceps/events/labyrinth.
