Brief hospital stay won’t disrupt Boren celebration events
NORMAN — A celebration weekend honoring University of Oklahoma President David Boren for his years of leadership will take place as planned, OU spokesman Rowdy Gilbert said Monday.
Gilbert said Boren has recovered completely from a minor stroke suffered Saturday, and there is no lasting impact.
He was set to be released from the hospital Monday.
Boren was taken to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City when he became dizzy Saturday morning during a campus event.
Tests confirmed he suffered a minor stroke, Gilbert said.
“President Boren is able to discharge his full duties as president and will continue to do so through June 30,” Gilbert said.
