Hot rods for hockey

EDMOND — Hot rods and customized motorcycle­s will compete for prizes Saturday at Arctic Edge Ice Arena. The event is free and open to the public.

Entry fees from competitor­s, as well as proceeds from a silent auction and food sales, will benefit the nonprofit Oklahoma City Youth Hockey Associatio­n.

Vehicles will check in at 8:30 a.m. with judging scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Awards will be presented at 2:30 p.m.

In addition to the hot rod show, there will be a 50/50 raffle and a silent auction for local goods and services, including a two-hour sunset Champagne sail for four on Lake Thunderbir­d, gifts cards for local restaurant­s, and many other items and experience­s. Food will be available from Eddie’s Bar and Grill, and public skating sessions will be available from noon to 2 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for $7 to $9 plus skate rental.

The event is sponsored by Arctic Edge, Eddie’s, The Journal Record, Johnson Auto Glass, The Vinyl Guy, Bob Moore Auto Group, Fast Lanes Car Wash, Pepperoni Grill, Kansas City Speedway, rockauto. com, Complete Body Boot Camp, Camping World, Lowes and Sam’s.
