Folk singer-songwriter K.C. Clifford presents “Anthology for a Songwriter,” an evening of song performances and readings of the works that inspired them, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Commonplace Books, 1325 N Walker Ave., #138.

“The idea for the show was inspired by the bookstore itself, which offers a fresh take on the book buying experience. The way Ben has curated the collections at Commonplace invites the notion that we are each drawn to and identify with certain types of literary work,” said Clifford in a news release. “In my experience, books have shaped who I am, informed how I see myself and how I view the world around me. There are works that feel deeply woven into my identity, and those writings have influenced my own art as a songwriter. In recent shows, I’ve found myself quoting some of my favorite authors. I’m taking that one step further with ‘Anthology for a Songwriter.’ This show will be unlike any I’ve presented to date. I’m excited to see what becomes of it.”

Tickets are $20, and doors open at 7 p.m. Purchase online at www.kcclifford.com/ tour.
