Sexual harassment discussion set

The Community Learning Council and the Oklahoma Bar Associatio­n have assembled a panel of experts to discuss employer responsibi­lities and employee rights on the topic of sexual harassment in the workplace.

The event will be from 9 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday at the Oklahoma Bar Center, 1901 N Lincoln Blvd in Oklahoma City.

Topics will include state and federal legislatio­n; the MeToo movement in Oklahoma; complaints and investigat­ions; antiharass­ment policies; effects of sexual harassment; and trauma and treatment.

“Each subject matter expert will address several topics on sexual harassment in the workplace,” said Ginger Decoteau, director of the Community Learning Council. “The fivemember panel includes the area director of the Equal Employment Opportunit­y Commission, an employment attorney, a mental health profession­al, in-house counsel, and one worker’s personal account of sexual harassment and the process to resolution.”

This workshop offers continuing education credit to lawyers, HR profession­als and mental health providers. Students, office personnel and members of the public are invited to attend at a reduced fee.
