OU, OSU earn victories Tuesday night

Oklahoma and Oklahoma State each picked up wins Tuesday night before the two team meet in the Bedlam Series starting Friday.

DALLAS — Oklahoma State topped Dallas Baptist 4-2 in 11 innings Tuesday night at Horner Ballpark.

With the win, OSU avenged a loss in March to the Patriots and improved to 3-0 in extrainnin­g games this season.

Ryan Cash and Jake Taylor had RBI hits in the decisive 11th inning to lift the Cowboys to victory.

Reza Aleaziz picked up the win to improve to 3-1 as he worked 2 1/3 scoreless innings before C.J. Varela needed just one pitch to earn his second save of the season.

OSU returns to Big 12 action Friday when it hosts Oklahoma at Allie P. Reynolds Stadium in Stillwater. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. Games two and three of the series will be played at Tulsa’s ONEOK Field.

OU cruises to easy win over UT Arlington

ARLINGTON, TEXAS — Oklahoma scored 10 runs in the first three innings and beat UT Arlington 11-5 Tuesday night at Clay Gould Ballpark.

OU right-hander Kyle Tyler worked in and out of trouble for 4.1 innings. He fell two outs shy of earning the win after he allowed three runs in the fifth, including a tworun home run by left fielder Christian Hollie. Right-hander Dylan Grove (2-1) got the win after striking out five and not allowing a run in 2.2 innings of two-hit ball. Kyler Murray led OU's 13-hit night with a 3-for-4 performanc­e. Tyler Hardman, Steele Walker, Kyle Mendenhall and Brandon Zaragoza all provided two hits.
