Cowgirls split doublehead­er in LA

Oklahoma State splits its nonconfere­nce doublehead­er Friday in Los Angeles, runruling South Dakota 9-1 before falling to top-ranked UCLA 7-2.

Energy FC will be trying to break a five-match losing streak when it travels to Nevada Saturday for a match against Reno 1868 FC.

Energy FC has been shutout in its last two matches and scored just three goals this season.

“For us, we’re trying to get our own performanc­e back on track,” said Energy FC assistant coach Danny Stone. “A tough road match, as they all will be this year, may be just what we need. We’ve had a good week of training thus far.”

The match begins at 8:45 p.m. at Greater Nevada Field in Reno.

Arcadia, Edmond residents win national doubles title

Laura Grooms, of Arcadia, and Edmond resident Stacy Williams-Lilley recently won the 50 and older division Women’s 4.5 Doubles title in the inaugural NTRP National Championsh­ips in Naples, Florida.

Grooms and WilliamsLi­lley were two of 18 players from around the country to earn titles at the tournament, which the U.S. Tennis Associatio­n launched this year.

OU downs Texas Tech, OSU loses to Baylor at Big 12 Men’s Tennis Championsh­ip

The Oklahoma men’s tennis team topped Texas Tech 4-0 Friday to advance to the Big 12 Championsh­ip semifinals in Austin, Texas, while Oklahoma State fell to Baylor 4-0.

The No. 3 seed Sooners (19-4) will battle No. 2 seed Texas at noon Saturday for a spot in the title match.

Cowgirls beat Sooners in Big 12 Championsh­ip quarterfin­als

The Oklahoma State women’s tennis team defeated Oklahoma 4-1 in the Big 12 Championsh­ip quarterfin­als Friday at the Texas Tennis Center in Austin, Texas.

The second-seeded Cowgirls (19-3) will play No. 3 seed Texas Tech at 3 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals.
