Oklahoma Heart Gallery receives honors

-

The Oklahoma Heart Gallery recently was honored by the Department of Human Services with a Community Partner Award.

The organization also was recognized by the Oklahoma state Senate with a Citation for Outstanding Service on April 18 for its work raising awareness of the need for permanent families for children available for adoption in DHS care.

Oklahoma Heart Gallery has worked to create portraits and videos of children available for adoption, which are placed on the Oklahoma Heart Gallery website, www.oklahomaheart gallery.org, and on gallery style displays throughout the state of Oklahoma.

Oklahoma Heart Gallery partners with DHS exclusively creating photography/video events throughout the year for the available children, focusing on older and disabled children who are often overlooked by adoptive families.

The Oklahoma Heart Gallery’s goal is to not only raise awareness of the need for permanent families for all available children in DHS care, but also to find permanent families for older children before they age out of the DHS system at 18.
