Spring Parade of Homes marches on this weekend
House of Hope sale will benefit several charities
The Parade of Homes Spring Festival continues with new homes — including the House of Hope, a charity fundraiser — open free to the public from 1 to 7 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday across the metro area.
Timber Crest addition in east Edmond, developed by Premium Land LLC, is the feature neighborhood. It is west of Midwest Boulevard and north of Covell Road.
The House of Hope, built by Shelly Reynolds McSparrin of Integrity Fine Homes, is at 14120 Timber Ridge Estates Blvd., off Memorial Road between Cemetery and Frisco roads. The Oklahoma City addition is in the Piedmont school district with a Yukon mailing address.
Proceeds from its sale will go the Oklahoma Home Builders Foundation’s select charities for the project: the Down Syndrome Association of Central Oklahoma, Cavett Kids Foundation, Canadian County CASA, UR Special Ministries and Peaceful Family Solutions.
The farmhouse-style home has 3,136 square feet with four bedrooms, three baths and a bonus room. It’s listed for $495,000 with Erica Ernzen of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Anderson Properties.
Traffic for the first weekend of the home parade was “outstanding,” said Rusty Appleton, executive director of Central Oklahoma Home Builders Association, which organized the parade.
“I was actually afraid that the weather might be too good,” he said, but the lure of new houses competed well with other weekend spring activities.
Some builders reported sales and others the started discussion with custombuild buyers, he said.
Maps and home descriptions are available at www. paradeofhomesok.com.
Dusty Hutchison of Alder Fine Homes is parade chairman. Sponsors include Oklahoma Natural Gas Co., Red Valley Landscape Construction, SWM & Sons Homes, Two Structures Homes, McCaleb Homes and Sun Custom Homes.
