Three die in wrecks on state roads

Three people died in weekend crashes on state roads, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Raeanna Thomison, 27, Sulphur

Between midnight and 6 a.m. Sunday, Thomison was driving west on State Highway 29, about a half mile east of Wynnewood in Garvin County. The car went off the road and rolled.

Thomison, who was not wearing a seat belt, died at the scene, troopers said.

Forrest A. Smith, 23, Lexington

About 10:10 a.m. Sunday, Smith was riding a motorcycle south on State Highway 4, about 3 miles southeast of Tuttle in Grady County. The motorcycle went left of center and crashed head-on into a tractor-trailer.

Smith, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, troopers said.

Katherine M. Wood, 77, Sullivan, Ill.

Wood died at OU Medical Center from injuries suffered in a crash Saturday morning.

About 10:30 a.m., she was a passenger in a sport utility vehicle heading west on Interstate 40 in Canadian County. The vehicle went off the road, through a fence and a ditch before crashing, troopers said.

The driver of the SUV, Stephen K. Wood, 77, of Sullivan, Ill. was admitted to OU Medical Center in serious condition with chest injuries.

They were both wearing seat belts.
