Former pastor accused of lewd acts with child

-

A former Norman pastor has been accused of molesting a young girl.

Phillip Paul Ratliff, 77, was arrested Tuesday on two complaints of lewd acts with a child, Norman police spokeswoman Sarah Jensen said.

On Sunday, someone reported to police that Ratliff may have molested a girl and also had child pornography on his computer, Jensen said.

After police interviewed the girl, Ratliff was booked into the Cleveland County jail Tuesday night, she said.

Jensen said the man was a former Norman pastor but did not name the church.

A website for the Alameda Baptist Church, 1503 E Alameda Street, lists Ratliff as the senior pastor.

That website was last updated March 1, 2012.

Anyone with additional information about the case is asked to call detective Kellee Robertson at 366-5261. stolen motorcycle, dumped it and ran from the scene.

About 7:10 a.m., a crew was filming an Oklahoma Highway Safety Office motorcycle safety advertisement on Interstate 240 near Pole Road.

The trooper was just there to direct traffic around the scene, not setting up a roadblock, said Lt. Kera Philippi, OHP spokeswoman. The man was pushing the motorcycle when he arrived.

“At first, people thought he was one of the actors,” Philippi said.

Apparently seeing the trooper, the man abruptly dumped the motorcycle and ran, raising suspicions.

Troopers from OHP and Oklahoma City police officers were assisted by a police helicopter overhead and a dog on the ground in a search of the area.

About 8:45 a.m., law officers arrested the man nearby.

Gabriel Carter, 24, of Choctaw, was taken to the Oklahoma County jail on complaints of possession of a stolen motorcycle and obstructing an officer.

The motorcycle had been reported stolen in Moore, Philippi said.
