Medical office building sells for $11.4M

-

Healthcare Realty Trust Inc., Nashville, Tennessee, bought Northwest Medical Center, 3330 NW 56, from local owners this week for $11.4 million in a transaction brokered by Wiggins Properties.

The six-story, 81,705-square-foot medical office building, built in 1981, with a two-story parking garage, is just south of Integris Baptist Medical Center. The seller was OKC Northwest Medical LLC, an arm of Arnold Oil Properties Inc., which acquired it in 1998.

David Huffman, Wiggins’ executive vice president, and Julie Kriegel, vice president, handled the sale. The buyer retained Wiggins as property manager and Kriegel as leasing agent.

“Northwest Medical Center is an outstanding Class B medical office building with Class A finishes, automated building systems and a strategic location that makes it highly competitive with the market’s Class A properties,” Kriegel said.

Major tenants include Integris Health, The Pediatric Group, Deaconess Physicians Services LLC, Radiology Associates, and Passport Health.

“Medical office buildings are in high demand by institutional buyers and Oklahoma City presents good value opportunities relative to the major markets as demonstrated by the four-week marketing program where the seller received eight qualified offers, mostly from out of state REITS and private medical funds,” Huffman said.

Training company wins education award

TULSA — The Global Learning Center at Oral Roberts University recognized Todd Feehan, owner of Dad’s Plumbing, 1210 W Britton Road, and Jack Werner, owner of A to Z Commercial and Residential Inspections, 3625 McKinley Ave., at ORU’s recent Augmented and Virtual Reality in Education Conference with the ORU AVR Education Impact Award.

The award was given for Werner and Feehan’s work through their training company, Lizrom, in developing trades training curricula accessible on a smartphone.

Shortages in the skilled trades workforce, the need for training, and the opportunities for skilled trades workers motivated Werner and Feehan to begin to develop the augmented reality training curricula.

“Study after study shows that through augmented reality training, students can learn much more, much faster at far less cost,” Feehan said, “and we can actually make it fun.”
