Top 3 listings for Oklahoma's top 1 percent

- Richard Mize rmize@ oklahoman.com

Let's take a look at how the 1 percent live.

(That means an adjusted gross income of at least $480,930, according to the Internal Revenue Service)

Specifically, let's look at what the 1 percent — plus lottery winners and those born to wealth — can buy and sell in Oklahoma.

First, look to Catoosa. PropertyShark.com identifies the Zebco Round Home, on the market for $5 million, as the highest-priced listing in the state. Architect Cecil Stanfield designed and built the lakefront home, shaped like a fishing reel, in 1970 for R.D. Hull, who invented the Zebco spin-cast reel.

"The 12,620-square-foot home is centered on a stunning indoor swimming pool atrium complete with spa and gaming area — all covered by a 25-foot-high dome, allowing natural light to pour in through the glass ceiling, PropertyShark.com reported in an article by Eliza Theiss.

"Surrounded by a 15-footwide circular hall with plenty of glass walls, 43 doors with hand-carved panels, curved oak beams and a ’70s throwback color scheme, it’s no surprise this home has been featured on television over and over again."

Chinowth & Cohen Realtors in Tulsa has the listing, and, of course, that's just the start of the extras and amenities. Next, look to Arcadia. A 12,612-square-foot home on 560 acres at 14275 E Waterloo Road, "probably one of the grandest Oklahoma estates," is listed for $4.7 million.

"Horse enthusiasts will appreciate the stables and horse pastures, the 5,000-squarefoot equipment building and, of course, the caretaker’s quarters," Theiss wrote.

The home, built in 2001, "showcases a chef’s kitchen complete with fireplace as well as an additional catering kitchen, a game room, a twostory wood-paneled library with fireplace and elevator" — stop right there.

Horse friendly? Grand library? I'll take two.

Churchill-Brown & Associates Realtors in Edmond has

the listing.

For No. 3, look to Stillwater, 4711 S Deerfield Drive, for $4,538,000.

“Those looking for decadent privacy need to look no further ...”

Decadent? Not sure I’ve ever thought of privacy as possibly being decadent. Hmm. Self indulgent. OK. Carry on.

“... than this 9,615-squarefoot home ... on 63 wooded

acres with walking trails and five large ponds. The 4-bed home welcomes visitors with a showstopping 4-story domed painted ceiling and grand dual staircases.”

The decadence goes on: “The great room features a wet bar and an oversized fireplace, and parties are a breeze thanks to the chef’s kitchen complete with a walk-in pantry that doubles as a storm shelter. There’s also a billiards lounge, an in-home theater and a private fitness center. The outdoors can be explored via walking trails or by luxurious chill-out areas,

including a resort-style pavilion with reflective pool and a 30-seat palapa.”

“Palapa” — now that’s so luxurious I had to look it up: “An open-sided dwelling with a thatched roof made of dried palm leaves.” OK. Cool.

Dolores Lemon & Associates Real Estate Professionals, in Stillwater, has the listing.

Hey, these really are the homes that dreams are made of, if you’re into that sort of thing. And you know you are. Check out the rest of the Top 10 here: https://tinyurl.com/ PSOK10.
