Dodgers top Grizzlies 5-4 in 10 innings

- FROM STAFF REPORTS

FRESNO, CALIF. — Alex Verdugo drove in the go-ahead run in the 10th inning as the Oklahoma City Dodgers edged the Fresno Grizzlies 5-4 Monday night at Chukchansi Park.

Oklahoma City and Fresno entered the ninth inning in a 2-2 tie. Each team then scored two runs in the ninth to force extra innings.

Andrew Toles started the 10th on second base for the Dodgers due to the new extrainning rules in Minor League Baseball this season. He advanced to third on an error, then scored when Verdugo grounded out to second base.

Joe Broussard (4-1) struck out the first two batters he faced in the bottom of the inning. He then walked Derek Fisher before striking out former Oklahoma standout Jack Mayfield to seal the win.

The Dodgers and Grizzlies split their four-game series and Oklahoma City finished its West Coast road trip with a 4-3 record.

After a leaguewide off day Tuesday, the Dodgers return home to begin a threegame series against the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
