OU football season ticket packages available Miyazaki Tabbed Academic All-American

The University of Oklahoma announced Thursday a pair of football season ticket plans for the 2018 season, a year in which the Sooners will play seven home games instead of six for the first time since 2007.

The entry-level season ticket packages will go on sale on Tuesday at 10 a.m.. They will be available online at www.SoonerSpor­ts.com/tickets, via phone at 800-456-4668 or 405-325-2424, and in person at the OU Athletics Ticket Office on the west side of Gaylord Family – Oklahoma Memorial Stadium.

The available tickets were originally reserved for opponents and returned to OU after going unclaimed.

University of Oklahoma tennis player Lily Miyazaki was named Thursday to the 2018 Google Cloud Academic All-America Women’s At-Large Team.

Miyazaki, a senior who has carried a 4.0 grade point average through her undergradu­ate and graduate studies, was named to the second team and was one of 35 of 45 honorees with a perfect GPA.

The Tokyo, Japan native is the first women’s tennis Academic All-America honoree in OU history.

Chiefs pick up UCO wide receiver

The Kansas City Chiefs have agreed to terms with Central Oklahoma wide receiver Josh Crockett, ChiefsDige­st.com reported Thursday.

Crockett, 6-foot-3 and 192-pounds, caught 50 passes for 758 yards and eight touchdowns as a senior for the Bronchos.

He also returned kicks, averaging 20.9 yards on 14 returns. Crockett also rushed four times for 69 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown run against Missouri Southern last October.

The Bristow native was one of five players trying out with the club during the recent minicamp. Crockett drew attention during the two-camp with big catches, including a leaping grab in traffic from quarterbac­k Chad Henne on Wednesday.
