Tigers 3, Twins 1: Michael Fulmer (3-5) improved to 5-0 in five career starts against the Twins. He pitched seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in ending a three-start winless streak.

Indians 5, White Sox 2: Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez connected, Mike Clevinger struck out 11 in seven innings and the Indians beat the Chicago White Sox.

Astros 7, Athletics 3: Justin Verlander pitched five-hit ball over seven innings and the Houston Astros beat the Oakland Athletics for their eighth straight win. Brian McCann homered for the first time in nearly a month. Carlos Correa, Jose Altuve and Josh Reddick were among five players with two hits apiece as Houston completed the three-game sweep. Giants 6, Marlins 3, 16 innings: XPablo Sandoval’s tie-breaking tworun single in the 16th inning lifted the Giants past the Miami Marlins, but the Giants also lost third baseman Evan Longoria to a broken left hand after he was hit by a pitch.

Phillies 9, Rockies 3: Vince Velasquez took a no-hitter two outs into the seventh inning, Rhys Hoskins and Nick Williams hit solo homers, and the Phillies beat the Rockies.

Braves 4, Padres 2: Anibal Sanchez allowed only four hits in seven scoreless innings, Ender Inciarte homered and scored two runs and the Atlanta Braves beat the San Diego Padres.

Yankees 4, Rays 3: Aaron Hicks and Gleyber Torres homered for the Yankees in a win over the Rays. LATE
