A woman who was first thought to be a victim in a May stabbing that left a man dead was arrested Thursday in connection with his death. On Friday, she and two others were charged with first-degree murder.

About 5:15 p.m. on May 29, Oklahoma City police responded to a stabbing call at the Super 40 Inn, 301 S Council Road. At the scene, officers found the body of Henry Gilberto Vicente, 27, and Lana Rene DeLodge, 32, alive but unconscious, covered in blood with a stab wound on her arm.

She was taken to a hospital to be treated for her injuries. Investigators determined a violent struggle had taken place inside the motel room, where pictures were knocked off the walls and blood was found on the bed, on the floor and on the front door of the room. Vicente had “bruising, swelling and cuts to his face,” wounds which officers said were consistent with being beaten. Investigators said it appeared he died from multiple stab wounds to his chest, according to a court affidavit.

A witness in a room next to the crime scene said he heard loud banging in the room and DeLodge later came to his room. He said he saw a deep cut in her arm and gave her a towel to stop the bleeding. The witness, whose name was not released, said DeLodge would not tell him how she cut her arm.

During an interview at the hospital, DeLodge told officers a man had come to the room earlier that day to check on her and that he left and later came back with another man. She said Vicente, her boyfriend, did not know the men, but Vicente’s mother told officers they all knew each other and were from Ponca City, according to the affidavit.

Investigators said the two men, later identified as Samuel Nino Jr. and Jesse Nino, fled from the motel in a car and later crashed into a motorcycle before continuing onto Interstate 40, near Agnew Avenue, where they were arrested after crashing into several other vehicles.

Both men are being held without bail at the Oklahoma County jail.

On June 7, investigators again interviewed DeLodge at her home in Ponca City, but said she refused to cooperate, adding that what had happened was “only an accident” and that she would not testify.

DeLodge was arrested and booked into the Oklahoma County jail on Thursday.

DeLodge and the two Ninos were charged Friday in Oklahoma County District Court with firstdegree murder.
