Banuelo pitches gem as OKC wins

-

Oklahoma City’s bats made life easy on lefthander Manny Banuelos.

The Dodgers pounded six extra-base hits and Banuelos threw six shutout innings to lift OKC to a 6-1 win over Salt Lake in front of 10,036 fans Friday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark.

The victory gives the Dodgers the series win after dropping Wednesday’s opener.

Banuelos held Salt Lake to just one hit and three walks while striking out six. The 27-year-old ran his record to 7-3.

And OKC’s offense pummeled three Bees pitchers for 13 hits.

Henry Ramos and Rocky Gale each doubled and tripled, driving in a run. Alex Verdugo, Edwin Rios, Rob Segedin and Jake Peter also drove in runs.

L.A. recalls Farmer

Oklahoma City catcher Kyle Farmer was recalled by Los Angeles before Friday night’s game as reliever Pedro Baez was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right biceps tendinitis.

L.A. now has nine pitchers on the disabled list.

Farmer, 27, opened the year in L.A. and played in 30 games. He played in 22 games with OKC, hitting .281 with three home runs and 16 RBI.

Hollins to celebrate Home Run For Life

The Dodgers and INTEGRIS will honor Emily Rose Hollins during Saturday night’s game as part of the Home Run For Life series.

Hollins was born nearly four months premature and spent 156 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She was born Feb. 28, 2017, and weighed just 12.7 ounces. She’s the hospital’s smallest surviving baby ever, leaving at 7 pounds, 15 ounces.

In April, her weight was approaching 15 pounds and she was on the verge of both talking and walking.
