WEDNESDAYS @ WILL Wednesday @ Will Rogers Gardens lecture series is open to the public and is presented at no charge by the Oklahoma County Extension Master Gardeners and the Oklahoma County OSU Cooperative Extension Service.
Beekeeping Basics, 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Will Rogers Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36. Presentation will feature Rick Schantz, with Central Oklahoma Beekeepers Association. No registration is required, and all ages are welcome. Cactus and Succulents, 6 to 7 p.m. July 11, Will Rogers Exhibition Center, 3400 NW 36. Program will be presented by Master Gardener Freddy Hill.
COMMONWEALTH URBAN FARMS The following workshops are located at CommonWealth Urban Farms, 3310 N Olie Ave. Workshops are $10 per session, $15 per couple or pair, and free to volunteers. Learn the basics of soil and steps to creating great compost including how to conduct and understand the results of a simple soil test, how to amend your soil and the 10 most common garden weeds (and their solutions). Cost is $8 for members, $12 for nonmembers.
Garden Maintenance Part 1, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. June 23, Commonwealth Urban Farms, 3310 N Olie Ave. Elia Woods of Commonwealth will offer a behind-the-scenes visit to her urban farm and address some of the most essential tasks in maintaining a healthy edible garden: watering and fertilizing. Cost is $14 for members, $18 for nonmembers. Register by June 19.
