A traffic stop ended with the recovery of 125 pieces of jewelry reported stolen in a February burglary.

His passenger, Tiahmo Lenell Draine, 46, was arrested on complaints of second-degree burglary, possession of burglary tools and receiving and concealing stolen property, according to the police report.

On June 12, the officer reportedly saw Hawkins fail to stop at a stop sign at NE 30 and Fonshill Avenue. Hawkins said he'd misplaced his license, but it was flagged as suspended, police reported.

After impounding the vehicle, the officer found two canvas bags in the floorboards containing rings, many of which had price tags on them and some still on jewelry displays, according to the police report.

Two watches encrusted with diamonds were found in the glove box, the report states.

A black ski mask, set of bolt cutters and a large crowbar also were found in the car, according to the report.

Early the morning of Feb. 22, burglars broke into BC Clark, 101 Park Ave., and stole between $50,000 and $75,000 worth of jewelry. Hawkins is a suspect in the heist, police said.
