For the second time in less than a year, Clayton Kershaw will make a rehab start for the Oklahoma City Dodgers.

Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts announced Monday that Kershaw would pitch on Saturday, after being on the disabled list since May 31 with a back strain.

The question was whether it would be for OKC or Los Angeles. Kershaw will pitch for OKC on Saturday in Omaha against the Omaha Storm Chasers. Kershaw pitched for OKC on Aug. 26 in a rehab start, which was also against Omaha.

He pitched five innings, struck out eight, while allowing one run on two hits.

Dodgers lose second straight game

For the second game in a row Tuesday, OKC’s pitchers struggled to slow down the Las Vegas 51s at the plate.

The 51s beat the Dodgers 3-2 in extra innings at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark, after more than 10 hits in consecutive games. With the Dodgers down 2-1, Henry Ramos hit a double to start the eighth inning. On the following at-bat, Henry Ramos moved to third and was eventually knocked in off a sacrifice-fly from Rocky Gale to tie the game. Due to a new minor league rule, both teams started the tenth inning with a runner in scoring position.

Zach Borenstein scored on a fielding error by shortstop Angela Mora to give Las Vegas a 3-2 lead in the tenth.

OKC failed to capitalize on its runner in scoring position, as the Dodgers recorded three straight outs to end the game. Edwin Rios was 2 for 4 with one run scored for the Dodgers. Alex Verdugo’s streak of 12 straight games with a hit ended as he went 0 for 4.
