Six die in traffic incidents

Six people are dead as a result of crashes on state roadways, authoritie­s reported.

Taylor Stoddart, 17, of Edmond Allyssa Del la Torre, 17, of Edmond

Stoddart and Del la Torre died Thursday of injuries suffered in a collision with a recreation­al vehicle in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Stoddart and Del la Torre were both pronounced dead at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City following a collision about 3 p.m. on State Highway 33 at S Broadway Avenue north of Edmond.

Stoddart had stopped the car she was driving at a stop sign on S Broadway Avenue, then pulled in front of a recreation­al vehicle driven east on SH 33 by Kevin Cox, 61, of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas. Del la Torre was a passenger in the Stoddart vehicle.

Cox was not injured. He wore a seat belt. A passenger in the Cox vehicle, Lisa Cox, 59, also of Fair Oaks Ranch, was not injured. She also wore a seat belt.

It was not known whether Stoddart or De la Torre wore seat belts, the patrol reported.

Juvenile male

A juvenile passenger on a motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision on a county road just east of Elmore City in Garvin County about 9:55 p.m. Thursday, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

The patrol did not release the boy’s name. The boy was a passenger on a motorcycle driven by Earnest Lee Knight, 41, of Elmore City. Knight was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital where he was admitted in fair condition, the patrol reported.

The driver of another vehicle involved in the collision, Russell Brown, 20, of Elmore City, refused medical treatment at the scene.

The patrol did not report what happened in the collision.

Suzanne Jewell, 62, of Crescent Jewell was killed Thursday morning in a collision on State Highway 74 in Logan County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.

Suzanne Jewell, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash about 5:20 a.m. about 4 miles south of Crescent on SH 74.

Jewell was driving a car south when it collided with an oncoming pickup driven by Koleton Arnett, 22, of Edmond. Arnett was treated for injuries at a Guthrie hospital and released.

The collision is under investigat­ion by the patrol’s traffic homicide unit, OHP reported.

Rosalie Terrill, 76, of Aline Terrill died Thursday evening as a result of injuries she suffered in a fourvehicl­e collision on June 17.

The collision happened near a private driveway on U.S. 412 about 1.7 miles west of Ringwood in Major County, the patrol reported.

Terrill was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the collision. She was being treated at OU Medical Center for injuries suffered in the crash, and was pronounced dead Thursday evening, the patrol reported.

Unidentifi­ed man

The pedestrian was struck and killed by a dump truck as he was attempting to cross a road Friday afternoon.

About 3:30 p.m., the victim, described as a man in his 50s, was attempting to cross SW 19 at Fritts Boulevard when a dump truck turning from Fritts Boulevard struck him, said Jeremy Lewis, spokesman for the Moore Police Department.

The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Lewis said it appeared the driver of the dump truck didn’t see the man in the intersecti­on when he turned. The driver stayed at the scene after the incident and cooperated with police.
