Police make arrest in year-old homicide

-

Oklahoma City police have made an arrest in connection with a year-old homicide.

A criminal probable cause affidavit was filed in the Oklahoma County District Court on Thursday against Dominique Dupree Bryant, 24, in connection with the death of Edward Lee, 39.

Bryant has been in custody since April on unrelated charges.

Lee was shot multiple times inside a car about 7 p.m. June 10, 2017, in the parking lot of a gas station at 505 N Rockwell Ave. He was pronounced dead at an Oklahoma City hospital. At the time, police had no suspects.

When the investigation began, police learned Lee and Bryant had an argument. Bryant drove away, but returned to shoot Lee, according to the affidavit.

Bryant ran from the scene and hopped a fence into a nearby field, where he threw the gun, according to the affidavit.

DNA evidence on the .40-caliber Glock pistol matched Bryant’s, and surveillance footage showed a man who resembled Bryant running across the field the gun was found in, according to the affidavit.

Bryant told investigators he never touched a Glock pistol but had run through the field.

Police arrested Bryant on a murder complaint and a complaint of possession of a firearm after former conviction of a felony.

Bryant remained in the Oklahoma County jail Friday.
