Energy FC looks to continue points streak

-

After a slow start to the season, Energy FC has found its footing.

The Greens are looking to earn a point for their fifth straight match when Colorado Springs (7-9-3) heads to Taft Stadium at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Energy FC (5-102) played San Antonio FC to a draw on Wednesday, earning one point to follow its three-game winning streak.

The Energy FC and Colorado Springs match on Saturday will be the ninth between the two clubs all-time. The Greens have played only three teams in more matches: Tulsa (13), Phoenix (11) and LA Galaxy II (10).

The teams met on May 19 in Oklahoma City, with Energy FC coming away victorious. Callum Ross smashed a header in the 84th minute to capture Energy FC's first win since March 17.

Cooke continues to make roster changes

Energy FC added another player to its lineup who could make his debut Saturday.

Energy FC coach Steve Cooke added Atiba Harris, who most recently played for FC Dallas, to the roster, adding depth to the defensive line. An MLS veteran of 276 matches, Harris has scored 31 goals during his time with multiple MLS clubs.

He also has served as the team captain of his native country Saint Kitts and Nevis, scoring 14 goals in 60 national team matches. He was the first player from Saint Kitts and Nevis to sign an MLS contract.
