Salvation Army plans pancake breakfast

-

The Salvation Army Central Oklahoma Area Command will host its annual Home Energy Aid Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 9 a.m. July 26 at 1001 N Pennsylvania.

The breakfast fundraiser is being held in partnership with community partners Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co., Oklahoma Natural Gas Co. and Public Service Co. of Oklahoma.

“We are proud to partner with these utility companies in an effort to provide some comfort and relief to seniors, persons with disabilities, and families on low and fixed incomes during these hot summer months,” Maj. Stephen Ellis, Salvation Army Central Oklahoma area commander, said in a news release.

Tickets are being sold in advance and on the day of the event.

For a $5 ticket, individuals will be treated to a stack of pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. To-go orders also will be available.

Traci Jenkins, The Salvation Army’s director of development, said the fundraiser comes at a crucial time of the year as temperatures spike across the state. “Donations and sponsorships for this event will be directed right back into the utility assistance program,” she said.
