Oklahoma State fans will have more food choices and a place to cool off on those hot autumn football Saturdays at Boone Pickens Stadium.

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State’s Boone Pickens Stadium will give fans a revamped experience this fall.

In addition to a 6,160-square-foot video board attached to Gallagher-Iba Arena beyond the east end zone, OSU announced Monday the stadium will also add a food court in the plaza level of the west end zone and various “cool zones” throughout the venue.

The university will also begin opening POSSE parking lots at 8 a.m. on game days regardless of kickoff time, providing fans with more time to tailgate.

“The fan experience is important to us,” OSU athletic director Mike Holder said in a release.

“We have spent a lot of time evaluating our work in this area and we will continue to do so.”

The food court is through a partnership with Sodexo and will feature Aspen Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Coney Island, Curty Shack, Down Home D’s BBQ, Firehouse Subs, Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, Pie Five, Pizza Hut, Slim Chickens, Thai Loco and Zaxby’s this season.

Whether students will be able to use their meal plan toward the food court is to be determined, an OSU athletics communications official told The Oklahoman.

In total, the stadium will have 300 locations for fans to purchase concessions, all of which will accept credit cards and Apple Pay. The concession enhancements will cost more than $1.5 million, per the university release.

The “cool zones” will offer fans a reprieve from hot fall Saturdays, should they need it. The areas will include fans, misters and free water stations.

The Cowboys have seven home games in 2018, beginning with their season opener against Missouri State on Aug. 30.
