Life stories to be shared in Edmond
EDMOND — A program on “Sharing our Life Stories” will be held during the Edmond Genealogical Society’s July meeting.
The Edmond Genealogy Society board of directors will present the session beginning at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1315 E 33rd.
Board members will “show and tell” their stories, sharing the genealogy methods they used to research their own family history. They also will provide pictures and family heirlooms to enhance their stories.
The public is invited to attend and learn more about writing their own stories or stories of relatives, leaving a lasting legacy for generations to come. The program is special, since attendees will hear different stories and gain helpful information on how the board members researched, gathered and wrote their family stories.
The Edmond Genealogy Society meeting is free and open to the public. Parking and entry to the church is through the rear of the building. The church is fully handicap accessible.
Meetings are held on the third Monday of each month, with speakers on subjects of interest to genealogists and historians. Membership is open to anyone interested in historical or genealogical research. For more information, go to www. facebook.com/EdmondGenSoc.
Next month’s presentation will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 20 and feature member Glenn Clure, who will speak on “Determining Familial Relationships.” Free genealogy assistance is available for those who come early to the meeting at 5:30 p.m.
